POLICE are appealing for the public’s help to trace a convicted burglar who failed to turn up to court for sentencing.

Dawid Wojciesjak, aged 32, formerly of Port Street, Evesham, was convicted of committing a burglary in Evesham on September 14.

He pleaded guilty at Kidderminster Magistrates Court on September 19 and was bailed to appear at Worcester Crown Court the following month.

West Mercia Police are now hunting for him after he failed to go to the bail hostel to which he was assigned and did not turn up at Worcester Crown Court for sentencing on October 18.

Detective Constable Peter Ryland, of South Worcestershire Police, said: “We are asking anyone who sees this man to contact us straight away.

"We would also like to hear from anyone who thinks they know where he may be living.”

If anyone sees Mr Wojciesjak or knows of his whereabouts should call DC Ryland at South Worcestershire Police on 101 quoting Step C/408/13 or anonymously by calling the independent charity, Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
