MOTORISTS are being warned resurfacing works at Camp Hill in Wordsley may cause delays.

Resurfacing work will be undertaken on the A491 between Marine Crescent and Brierley Hill Road from Friday August 8.

The work, which will take around a week to complete, will include construction of a new splitter island in Camp Hill near the junction with Marine Crescent - once the resurfacing has been completed.

The island will provide an improved pedestrian crossing point.

Traffic will be controlled by stop and go boards while the work is being carried out on weekdays between 9.30am and 3.30pm. No road closures or traffic diversions are anticipated.

Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, Dudley’s cabinet member for transportation said: “We are undertaking this resurfacing work during the school summer holidays during quieter times to minimise disruption.

“The road will remain open at all times but we are asking people to allow extra time for possible delays.

“I would like to thank our residents, businesses and motorists for their patience as we undertake this important work.”
