IT IS the final countdown to the jam-packed Worcester Show which will feature everything from bike rides to beekeeping advice.

Bands, stalls and fun for all the family are just some of the things people can look forward to when it opens on Gheluvelt Park, Barbourne on Sunday, August 17.

Michelle Newell, the council's community engagement team leader, said: "The Worcester show will be a fantastic day out for the whole family.

"As well as showcasing the amazing creativity of Worcester residents, there will be music, dancing, cookery demonstrations, children's rides, craft stalls and delicious food to enjoy."

There will be 107 classes ranging from floral decorations to photography as well as a large marquee packed with displays.

Children can dress as a flower fairy or scarecrow to win a rosette with judging taking place at 3.30pm in the Children's Zone.

A secure bike lock area near to Pump House Cafe manned by Push Bike while volunteer rangers from Sustrans and Transition Worcester will be running riverside bike rides at 1.30pm and 3pm.
