THE percentage of students passing their A levels across Worcestershire has increased.

Initial data reported by Worcestershire County Council shows an increase of almost two per cent of students achieving two or more A* to E grades.

The authority said 94.1 per cent of students attained those grades, an improvement on 2013’s figure of 92.4 per cent.

The percentage of students achieving three or more A* to E grades has also risen to 83.9 per cent from 78.6 per cent last year.

County councillor Liz Eyre, cabinet member for children and families, said: “Year on year Worcestershire schools are improving and A level students have yet again shown they can make the grade with a superb performances.

“This year’s results are a well-deserved reflection of the determination and hard work of the students, the skills of their teachers and the tremendous support of their families.
