JURASSIC Park may soon be a more fitting name for a Worcester park if anymore dinosaurs turn up.

Fort Royal Park, off London Road, is now home to a Triceratops after one mysteriously moved in over the weekend.

Les Pearson, park keeper with Worcester City Council, said he doesn't know where the sculpture has come from.

"I came in to the park on Monday morning, having last checked the park on Friday, and a number of people told me to take a look at a 'monster monument' that had turned up," Mr Pearson said.

"I went to investigate and saw this dinosaur sculpture had been erected — I was told it was put there on Saturday morning but no one knows who did it or why they did it.

"It's quite a tall sculpture and about as long as a small car, it's very good. We may have to change the park's name to Jurassic Park if we get anymore move in."

Mr Pearson said that despite its unknown origin, he's happy to leave the 'dinosaur' in peace for the time being.

"It's not causing any harm or problems and it is a talking point, so I'm quite happy to leave it up until I'm told to take it down. If it becomes dangerous then I will take it down but we'll have to wait and see. As far as I know it's not a carnivore so we should be okay," Mr Pearson added.
