A STUDENT run business has been shortlisted as one of the top companies in the Lloyds Bank 2014 Enterprise Award for successful entrepreneurs.

From hundreds of applications, the King Charles I School student ran Cattleya CIC has made it through to the five regional heats being held across the country.

The company, which provides bespoke cocktails and healthy smoothies for business and community events using exotic fruits imported from Colombia, has the chance to win a prize package of up to £50,000.

As part of the search for Britain’s best student and graduate entrepreneurial talent, which started in May, the winning organisation is also rewarded with mentoring from senior business executives.

The members of Cattleya CIC said they are delighted to have been selected for the Best Enterprise Award and will now pitch their business on Tuesday, September 23, to a panel of judges at Nottingham Trent University.

Judges include local business leaders, members of Lloyds Banking Group and public figures.

Wyre Forest MP, Mark Garnier, said: “This is an excellent achievement and really reflects the hard work that the students have put into the company.

“It is great to see students involved in social enterprise and the high calibre of young people that we have in Wyre Forest.”
