AN annual charity table top sale is to be held at the Lyttleton Rooms in Malvern this Saturday (October 25).

The event, which begins at 10am, will provide the opportunity to find out more about the various youth and health charities supported by the event and the chance to grab a bargain.

There will also be free tea, coffee and other refreshments.

The sale is taking place to raise money for charities supporting people in African countries, Uganda and Tanzania.

Organiser, Denise Ditchburn, said all proceeds would be going to charity.

"Following a visit to Uganda in 2007 my husband and family have been raising money for these charities," she said. "On our visit we saw great poverty but also a spirit of determination amongst the people in rural communities to develop a better life and future for themselves. These areas have been decimated by HIV and the effects of the virus on the wider family. We felt the need to support them in whatever small way that we could.

"Each year we hold a table top sale in Malvern, we raffle items for the cause and also sell our home produced apple juice to raise funds to help."

Everyone is welcome on the day.
