A DEPARTMENT store in Merry Hill has raised £2,491 for Children in Need.

Staff at Debenhams took part in a range of fundraising activities from July to September to raise funds for the charity, which supports thousands of projects around the UK that help youngsters to have a safe, secure and happy childhood.

The store exceeded its £2,000 target, making it one of the top 10 performing Debenhams stores in the country.

Store manager, Alan Macera, said: “We are all really proud of the great achievement from the team for their Children in Need initiatives and the creative activities which allowed them to surpass targets. "We are also incredibly thankful to our lovely customers for their fantastic generosity.

“Every penny really does count and the amount raised by the Merry Hill store will help to fund both small and large projects, not just locally, but all around the UK.”

Children in Need is one of three charity partners supported by the Debenhams Foundation, sitting alongside Think Pink and Help for Heroes.
