A MAN was taken to hospital after being rescued from a Netherton canal by police in the early hours of this morning.
West Midlands Police was called at 12.15am today (Wednesday November 26) to the canal at the junction of Canalside and Northfield Road by the man, whose condition was described as “distressed”.
West Midlands Ambulance Service dispatched a rapid response paramedic, an area support officer and the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to the scene at 12.34am.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “The man was removed from the canal and went voluntarily to hospital with ambulance staff for precautionary checks.”
