PUPILS at a Kidderminster primary school put kindness into practice this week when they made up shoebox presents for children in Kurdistan.

Children at St Oswald’s CE Primary School made up the boxes as part of the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child appeal.

They decided whether their box would be for a girl or a boy and selected an age group before collecting toys, stationery, sweets, soaps and toothbrushes as well as warm hats and gloves.

The boxes will then be given to children in Kurdistan who have been displaces by the fighting and disruption in their homeland.

Joel Marshall, headteacher, said he was very proud of the pupils who have collected more than 30 boxes for the appeal.

The school featured the project in their assembly and discussed in class where the boxes go and the benefits they bring to the recipients.

Mason Howell, year 3 pupil, said: “We wanted other children who have less than us to be happy at Christmas.”
