THE aisles of a Sainsbury's store in Worcester will come alive with song this weekend.

St Joseph's RC School, the 3rd Worcester Scouts and Saxophone quartet Random Numbers will perform Christmas songs and carols at the Sainsbury’s store in Blackpole on Saturday and Sunday.

Next week will also see volunteers from St Richard’s Hospice, the store’s local charity partner, in store helping customers pack their bags at the checkout to raise funds for the hospice.

Gavin Jones, store manager for the Blackpole store, said: "Live carol singing is sure to create a brilliant atmosphere for our customers and colleagues ahead of Christmas, and we’re really pleased we can support St Richard's Hospice during the festive season.”

St Joseph's RC School are singing at the front of the store between 9am and 10am on Saturday and the 3rd Worcester scouts will perform between 11am and midday on the same day.

The Saxophone Quartet will perform on Sunday 11am and midday.
