QUILTS made with love and care will now offer comfort to the families of patients at a Worcester hospice.

Members of the Project Linus UK volunteer group recently donated a large bundle of handmade quilts to St Richard's Hospice’s family support team.

“We give these beautiful quilts to patients and their families and they snuggle up in them so the quilt becomes part of the life of the loved one, capturing special memories," Alison Cooper, from the hospice, said.

"Then when the loved one dies, their families can cherish the quilts and they give great comfort.

"We are very grateful to the Worcestershire Project Linus group for continuing to support St Richard’s patients and families in this very special way.”

St Richard’s Hospice provides free specialist palliative care for patients living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and supports their families.

Lynne Adams, from Project Linus, said: “We hope that the gift of these quilts shows the families that we care about them and gives them the physical reassurance that comes along with being snuggled up in a quilt.”
