A MAN remains in hospital with serious head injuries following an assault in Worcester on Friday night.

At around 10.20pm an altercation took place between a 46-year-old man and an unknown man in the St John's area of Worcester.

During the incident, the 46-year-old man, who is from Pershore, was struck in the head by an unknown man, causing him to fall to the floor.

While he was on the floor, another man approached him and assaulted him.

The victim lost consciousness as a result of the attack and remains in hospital with serious head injuries.

The first suspect is described as a white man around 6ft 4 in height, of a skinny build with short slightly wavy hair and missing a tooth. At the time of the incident he was wearing all black clothing.

The second man is described as being in his early twenties with short hair and a wispy beard. At the time of the incident he was wearing a white jumper with black trousers.

It is believed that many people were present during the attack and they are encouraged to come forward to police by calling 101, quoting incident number 771 of 19th December.
