WYRE Forest residents are being asked to give their views on Worcestershire County Council’s Adult Services.

The direction of services for older people, and hearing from those affected, is the latest issue to come under the council's scrutiny microscope.

A group of county councillors, led by Councillor Tom Wells, will be scrutinising the cabinet's plans and are keen to hear what residents and users think of how services have changed so far and the future picture.

Councillors want to hear from residents who use services and the organisations providing them, along with senior officers, to find out about the plans and to make sure they are the right ones for the county’s older people.

Mr Wells said: “These are difficult and challenging times for the council, and inevitably there is less money to spend on all services, including those for older people.

“We have heard how the Directorate of Adult Services and Health plans to work differently in order to maintain frontline services wherever possible.

“It’s important and vital that we now hear feedback from those who will be affected. Our job is to comment, challenge and question the proposals.”

The Adult Care and Well-being Scrutiny Panel meeting is taking place on Thursday, January 22, at 10am at County Hall, in Worcester.
