A CYCLIST is encouraging other people to get on their bikes and join him in an epic ride from Worcester.

Toby Fellows is organising a 100-mile cycle ride from Worcester to Aberdovey in Wales.

The ride will take place on Saturday, June 6 from the King's School's playground and Mr Fellows, who lives in Stourport, wants more people to get on board.

"I am a keen cyclist and one day I just decided to organise the cycle ride for no real reason other than I thought it would be fun, a challenge and a good way to raise money," Mr Fellows said.

"I chose to raise money for St Richard's Hospice in Worcester. It's hard choosing a charity as there are so many worthy causes out there but I chose St Richard's in the end because they help so many families, I think most people will know someone who has been helped by them."

The cycle will take place over the course of the day and the route will be signposted the entire way, with refreshments provided along the way and a buffet lunch will be waiting for those who complete the challenge.

Mr Fellows added: "I really wanted to get people to challenge themselves. Depending on how fast you go and how many breaks you have, it can take anywhere from four-and-a-half hours to seven hours to complete.

"It should be a great day."

It costs £30 to register for the ride.

Around 50 people are wanted to take part in the event and the deadline for registering is March 1.
