A MAN from Lye has been charged following a car crash in the early hours of this morning.
The 48-year-old was charged with drink driving after crashing a car into a lamppost in Providence Street, Lye.
West Midlands Fire Service was alerted to the incident at 1.55am with crews from Brierley Hill and Stourbridge stations, consisting of 10 fire fighters, attending the crash.
West Midlands Ambulance Service dispatched a paramedic and a rapid response vehicle to the incident which took place outside Lye Peugeot Centre.
The man was checked at the scene by the paramedic but was discharged without needing hospital treatment.
West Midlands Police Service was also in attendance.
The man has been bailed for hearing at Dudley Magistrates on February 27.
