WYRE Forest MP Mark Garnier held his fifth jobs fair in Kidderminster Town Hall last Thursday (February 12).

The event brought more than 40 companies together in one place for a drop in session to meet prospective employees.

The fair allowed job seekers to better understand the local job market; highlighting opportunities many didn’t realise were available. The jobs fair also benefitted companies allowing them to bring in new candidates, as well as better understand the skills sets they have on their doorstep. The informal atmosphere allowed job seekers the chance to ask about all aspects of jobs available and the application process.

Mr Garnier said: “Unemployment is dropping month on month in Wyre Forest.

“Part of this success is down to making connections. Organising job fairs is very rewarding as I see many constructive discussions happening. When people are able to chat with an employer the whole job search seems a lot less daunting.

“I hope this jobs fair, as the four before have done, benefitted people. Bringing job fairs to Wyre Forest is something that I am pleased to have been able to do as the local MP and I hope to bring many more to Wyre Forest in the future.”
