A WORCESTER man whose mother and wife both died after suffering a stroke is hoping a night of music will boost his fundraising efforts.
Charlie Hodges, aged 73, is holding a music night at Rushwick Village Hall on Saturday, March 28 at 7pm.
The event will raise money for the Stroke Association, on top of the £8,000 he has already raised over the last three years.
Matthew Long and his Quartet will perform hits from some of the greatest crooners, including Perry Como, Frank Sinatra and Matt Monro.
Mr Hodges said: "It should be a fantastic night, I've seen Matthew perform before and he is brilliant.
"My wife, Margaret, died on her 60th birthday from a stroke while on her way to her birthday party, and my mother, Betty, died just three days before her 100th birthday. They are my reason for pushing on to raise as much money as possible and I have other events planned throughout the year."
Tickets for the evening cost £10, with tea and canapés included.
