SEVERAL people from Droitwich stood out at the recent Community Recognition Awards last month, organised by Wychavon District Council at Peopleton Village Hall.
The awards are held to recognise people in the community who go the extra mile for those around them. And are split into eight different categories.
Winners from Droitwich included Beth Whitsey who won Young Volunteer of the Year, Phoebe Chan who was named as Sporting Hero, and Peter Hawkins who was given the Arts Recognition Award for his work with Droitwich Arts Network.
Sylvia and Arthur Whittaker were also recipients of Lifetime Achievement Awards.
