CUTE and cuddly friends joined residents at a Pershore care home for a teddy bears time and cuppa tea party this week to raise money for Dementia UK.

Heathlands in Station Road, Pershore, welcomed people to their fundraising event on Tuesday (March 3) from 10am until noon.

The team and residents brought along their favourite teddy bears to join in the fun, with refreshments and mouth-watering cakes on offer at the Sanctuary Care home in exchange for a donation.

The home’s deputy manager Netty Matthews said: “Our residents loved welcoming people from the local community along to their home and were delighted to see so many teddy bears too.

"The cakes were beautiful and we were thrilled to raise £60 for Dementia UK on the day, with more money coming in with our raffle.”

The home’s activities leader Andrew Portman said: “Our residents love to welcome people from our local community along to events in their home and Dementia UK is a charity which is so close to all our hearts here."

Time for a Cuppa is Dementia UK’s annual fundraising event; a national day which brings people together over a cuppa to raise money for the provision of Admiral Nurses, specialist dementia nurses who provide care, advice and support to the loved ones of people living with dementia.
