Highways chiefs say essential road works on a busy route will end tomorrow – a day ahead of schedule.
Patching and resurfacing works have been carried out on the A449 between Hartlebury and Ombersley will finish tomorrow evening (Thursday).
The patching and resurfacing, which has been carried out in sections in a bid to minimise disruption, was scheduled to last ten days and would have ended on Friday evening (March 6).
However the work has gone smoothly and will now finish tomorrow at 5pm when the traffic management will be removed. Work on the last section by Ombersley bridge began on Tuesday (3).
Worcestershire County Council Highways Manager Jon Fraser said: "The contractors have worked hard to complete this project ahead of time and deserve our praise.
"We understand it has been busy at times, particularly when the convoy system has been in operation to protect the workforce. However this was essential work and we would like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding."
