A DROITWICH Spa care home has been named as the second best home of its kind across the whole of the West Midlands in a leading guide.

Newland Hurst Care Home came second out of nearly 800 care homes, voted for in the guise carehome.co.uk.

The award was judged through recommendations from residents, as well as from friends and relatives of residents.

Davina Ludlow, director of carehome.co.uk, said: “We felt the best people to say how good a care home really is, are the residents and their families and friends. Their recommendations show the warmth and excellent care that exists in so many care homes.

“Newland Hurst has proved that it provides great care and we’d like to congratulate it on being a top recommended home in the West Midlands. It’s a fantastic achievement to be recognised for being a highly recommended home from the people you care for.

“The care home will be named on carehome.co.uk as a top rated home and will receive a certificate.”

Bob Timmins, manager at Newland Hurst, added: “The residents and team at Newland Hurst are overjoyed to have been recognised with a carehome.co.uk award. This award is a credit to the incredible commitment, hard work and passion that the staff team display on a daily basis, always going the extra mile to ensure that the people who call the service home are supported as individuals and live full and rewarding lives within the community.

“As you enter the building you feel the warmth and welcome which must have contributed to so many nominations. As a registered charity it has been a difficult time enduring the current economic climate but this award has given the residents and staff team real cause for celebration.”
