KIDDERMINSTER Rock Choir joined classical crossover artists G4 on their reunion tour when it came to Birmingham.
The 180-strong choir joined the X Factor finalists at the Birmingham Town Hall on Sunday, April 5.
Supporting X Factor’s G4 were members of Kidderminster, Bromsgrove, Stourbridge and Redditch Rock Choir groups, as well as Charlottle Jaconelli from Jonathan and Charlotte, who were runners up in Britain’s Got Talent in 2012. The Rock Choir opened the show with a 30-minute set of uplifting pop and rock songs, and then joined G4 on stage for six songs.
Christa Hugo, choir leader, said: “We were thrilled when G4 asked us to join them on stage.
“It was a wonderful show and the choir members loved every minute.
“The G4 boys were lovely and seemed genuinely blown away by the sound we made.”
Kidderminster Rock Choir has been running since September 201 and in that time has raised money for various charities including Missing People, Young Minds and Macmillan Cancer Support. They have performed at various local events including the Kidderminster Arts Festival and the town’s Christmas Lights Switch-On, as well as larger events at Wembley Stadium and Birmingham’s Symphony Hall. In June, they will be part of a national Rock Choir event at the Genting Arena.
