THE Rotary Club of Stourbridge has presented their 2015 Palfrey Award to the founders of a Stourton residential centre.
Jane and Robert Chapman, of Living Springs Residential Centre, were given the award in recognition of their “valuable and unstinting work” for vulnerable children and their families.
The Stourbridge Club is currently supporting Living Springs, located in Bridgnorth Road, as one of its charities of the year.
Jane and Robert were presented with a donation, along with a certificate, at the rotary club’s recent meeting on May 13.
The centre was founded by the pair in 1985 when they made over part of their home to help vulnerable teenage mothers and their children.
Jane was awarded an MBE in 2011 for her work with the charity, which also runs a debt advice centre from the Vines Restaurant, in High Street, Stourbridge.
