PEOPLE trust vets more than they trust doctors, dentists and headteachers, a survey has found.

ICM Research spoke to more than 2,000 people in the UK, and found that 94 per cent of people trust their vet either generally or completely.

This puts veterinary surgeons above GPs, dentists, and head teachers in terms of how well the key professions are trusted.

In a list of key professions the veterinary profession came third in terms of overall trust. Vets are just behind opticians, who achieved a 95 per cent trust rating, and pharmacists, who took the top position with 97 per cent.
