PEOPLE both young and old are being invited to dust off their cuddly toys for a teddy bears picnic at Stevens Park in Quarry Bank on Saturday (June 27).

Between 1pm and 3pm, the Friends of Quarry Bank Park group will be welcoming people of all ages for an afternoon of live music, games, and competitions.

The picnic will include a performance from the children of Thorns Primary School, while a giant teddy will be meeting and greeting the visitors.

A certificate and small prize will be handed out to the children who complete a quiz about the park, music will be played throughout the day and the park rangers will be organising a number of games for the younger visitors.

Mary Sparks, secretary of Friends of Quarry Bank Park group, said: “This is a good old fashioned picnic, which is open to children of all ages from 0 to 100.

“We want children, parents and grandparents to come along with their own picnic and join with their neighbours and friends to enjoy a nice outdoors family event in their local park.

“All we need is good weather!”

Organisers would like to make visitors aware that the event may be cancelled in the event of bad weather.
