STUDENTS of a Stourbridge learning group have been handed honour roll prizes at a recent awards ceremony.
Learners at Kumon Stourbridge study centre, based at Pedmore Technology College and Community School, were recognised for their success and continued development studying on maths and English programmes.
Caroline Clarke, wife of the late Lawrence Clarke who founded the centre, presented 64 students with their certificates and medals for their achievement of reaching, and in some cases surpassing, the Kumon International Standard.
Lisa Sheldon, centre instructor, said: “Daily study of the Kumon programmes requires dedication and perseverance from both the student and their parents.
“This ceremony is a chance to not only reward and celebrate the students’ achievements but to also thank parents for their ongoing commitment to their child’s Kumon studies.”
Mrs Brookes, head of mathematics at Pedmore Technology College, attended the ceremony and spoke about the school’s students who attend Kumon classes and how this has benefitted their study skills.
