TWO men have been arrested on the M5 after officers swooped and found £150,000 worth of drugs in their car near Worcester.

The males from South Wales were arrested yesterday by Central Motorway Police Group on the M5 southbound near junction 7 (Worcester south).

Police said on Twitter the car was 'full of drugs' with an approximate value of £150,000.

The suspects were arrested for possession with intent to supply controlled drugs and have since both been charged with possession with intent to supply class B and C drugs.

Bryan Elliott, aged 34, and Chris Mould, aged 23, both of Merthyr Tydfil appeared before magistrates in Worcester today.

Elliott was remanded in custody and Mould was bailed to attend Worcester Crown Court on September 28.

The males dealt were dealt with by proactive CID and charged with two drug supply offences each.

Detective sergeant Jamie Francis of Proactive CID in Worcester said the vehicle contained approximately £65,000 worth of cannabis (class B drug) and £80,000 worth of Diazepam (class c drug).

DS Francis said: "We actively work together with other police forces and agencies to target the supply of illegal drugs to reduce the harm they cause to our communities."
