A WORCESTER library will host not one, and not two, but ten poets when a unique show stops off in the city next month.

The Hive, in Sawmill Walk, is stop six on a national tour of the Quiet Compere, a unique show by ten poets performing for ten minutes each.

The Quiet Compere line-up for Worcester includes local poets Jasmine Gardosi, Claire Walker, Nina Lewis, Catherine Crosswell, Carol Sealeaf and Myfanwy Fox performing with Hayley Frances, Mike Alma, Adrian Mealing and Neil Laurenson.

Each will perform their contrasting styles of poetry on Friday, July 10 at 7.30pm.

Laura Worsfold, the Hive business development manager, said: “We have hosted a number of poetry events at the Hive since it opened and they have all gone down really well. I am sure this one will be really entertaining, and it will be great to experience established and new poets performing alongside each other.

“The performance will be in our intimate studio space which means numbers are limited so we are encouraging people to book their tickets online and in advance to guarantee a seat.”

The tour, organised by Sarah L Dixon, the Quiet Compere of Manchester, will visit 12 cities in total with more than 120 different poets performing altogether.

Tickets cost £5 each and are available at www.thehiveworcester.org/events.
