POLICE are treating a fire at a Worcester pub as arson.

Your Worcester News reported on Tuesday how the manager of the Crown Public House, formerly Lloyds bar, in Crown Passage, praised his staff for spotting and containing the fire in the men's toilets in the early hours of Sunday morning.

West Mercia Police is treating the incident as suspicious and is appealing for witnesses.

The fire was started at around 12.30am, in the men's toilet area on the first floor. Damage to the toilet cubicle was caused but no one was injured.

Police are urging anyone who was in the pub at the time, who may have seen anything suspicious to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 51 of 28th June.
