PEOPLE living and working in Abberley near Worcester are being asked for their views on developing a neighbourhood plan.

Abberley Parish Council has submitted an application to Malvern Hills District Council to designate the parish as a neighbourhood area with a view to developing a neighbourhood plan.

Neighbourhood plans are a key part of the government’s localism agenda which give local people more of a say on issues like where new homes, shops and offices should be built, and the design of new developments.

One of the first steps in developing a neighbourhood plan is for the parish council to apply to the district council to be designated as a neighbourhood area.

A six week public consultation is being held from Friday, July 3 to Friday, August 14.

Any comments on the Abberley neighbourhood area application should be sent to Malvern Hills District Council by 5pm on Friday, August 14.
