A POPULAR play area in Worcester is to be completely revamped in time for the summer holidays.
The ageing play equipment at Lansdowne Park is to be ripped up from Monday, July 6 and replaced with a shiny new two-section multiplay facility including climbing frames, a slide and monkey bars.
The play area in Lansdowne Road will also be surfaced with wetpour rubber surfacing while other equipment will include a rocker.
The new equipment at the park in the Arboretum area of the city is expected to be to fully installed and ready to enjoy before schools break up for the summer holidays later this month.
The £30,000 revamp, which will also include new gates, is part of an overhaul of play areas by Worcester City Council, with more set to be announced.
Speaking at a meeting of the Arboretum Residents Association on Monday, June 29, ward member Cllr Joy Squires said: “It’s good news in terms of getting some really good equipment in there”.
