A PICTURESQUE church square in Worcester will be buzzing with excitement and activity this weekend.

St George’s CE Church’s summer fair on Saturday, July 11 promises to be a day to remember, with stalls, refreshments, a barbecue and a host of other attractions.

The event in St George’s Square, which will run from midday until 4pm, will also include the ever-popular Barbourne’s Got Talent contest. Anyone with any special skill they think could wow the judges invited to compete for a £50 star prize.

Fear not though – Simon Cowell isn’t expected to make an appearance.

To enter the talent competition visit www.saintgeorgesworcester.org.uk/barbournes-got-talent or for more information call 07971 677 276 or email gareth.evans@platinum-property.co.uk.

Anyone who thinks they could give Mary Berry a run for her money is also being invited to take part in the Great Barbourne Bake-Off, with prizes for the best bread as well as batches of six scones and cupcake. Entries must be submitted between midday and 12.15pm.

The organisers are also appealing for anyone who has a large gas barbecue who would be prepared to lend it to them for a day to get in touch by calling the parish office on 01905 780 200 or emailing summerfair@saintgeorgesworcester.org.uk.
