MORE than 40 life saving missions are now possible after Midlands Air Ambulance Charity raised over £100,000 at its recent charity ball.
500 guests attended the Lye-based charity’s black tie event at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham, raising a total of £105,011.
Guests were treated to a four course dinner, followed by a live auction, prestigious raffle, live entertainment, casino and after show party.
The night also celebrated and recognised the hard work and dedication of a number of individuals and businesses who have gone above and beyond to support the charity throughout the past year.
Hanna Sebright, chief executive, said: “Our Recognition Awards and Charity Ball is always a truly inspiring evening as we thank some very special people for their incredible commitment to our charity.
“Not only did the night bring tears and laughter, but we also raised our largest ever total, for which we are extremely grateful.
“As each air ambulance mission costs the charity £2,500, the £105,011 raised will fund 42 additional life saving missions flown by our aircrew – it doesn’t get much better than that.”
Among the famous faces who attended were Rustie Lee, rugby star Thinus Delport , boxer Joe Egan, Olympic hockey player Jane Sixsmith and race horse trainer Michael Scudamore. DJ Ed James compèred the event.
