PUPILS at a Stourport primary school have been putting their cookery skills to the test in the Great Wilden Bake Off.
There were more than 50 entries from enthusiastic would-be-chefs at Wilden All Saints CE Primary School, in Wilden Lane, and 12 pupils were all shortlisted for the final.
Staff at the school enjoyed sampling their wonderful creations, judging them on presentation and taste.
The winner was a delicious Owl shaped chocolate cake on which one of the judges commented that it was ‘decorated creatively, is visually eye-catching, easy to portion and tastes lush’.
Other creations include scones, teddy bear biscuits, chocolate mousse cake, fairy cakes, flapjacks, blueberry sponge cake, rocky road, lemon drizzle cake and a chocolate and sweet extravaganza cake.
Francesca Fishwick, head teacher at Wilden All Saints, said: “As the competition had proved so popular, it is hoped it will become an annual event.”
