A NEW venture selling bottled beers from Herefordshire and around the world may soon open its doors.
Those behind the Hereford Beer House idea say the concept has come from the burgeoning craft beer scene in the United States.
Hereford Beer House Ltd, based in Stoke Prior, near Leominster, is applying to Herefordshire Council for a premises licence for the bottle shop and tap room at a unit in West Street, Hereford.
In documents sent to the council, the applicants say: "We've visited lots of breweries, bars, tap rooms and bottle shops and have modelled ours using what we think to be the best bits from all of them.
"We plan to sell great beer being brewed right here in Herefordshire (including our own) and beer from all over the world.
"We want to encourage a more insightful and educational look into beer, promoting the idea of drinking some of the most skilfully crafted products available and analysing the appearance, the aroma, the flavour, the mouthfeel and the aftertaste."
The applicants plan to offer cheese platters with the beer if customers are drinking at the premises.
