A INTREPID group of staff from a Hereford arts centre won't be out of their depth during a four-day river mission.
The dynamic dozen, who all work at the Courtyard Centre on Edgar Street in Hereford, are taking on a 100-mile canoe trip down the River Wye.
Funds raised will go to the venue's community arts work.
The four-day venture, named the Wye 100 Canoe Challenge, will begin at Llyswyn, near Hay-on-Wye, next Tuesday (11th). The team will aim to paddle around 25 miles each day, arriving at Bigsweir Bridge three days later.
The team are being supported by Hereford Canoe Hire, who have donated the canoes.
Team leader Phil Pearcy, said: "This is a great challenge for us, providing an opportunity for staff to get fit but also showing customers our dedication to raise money to keep the Courtyard a sustainable arts centre for all."
Lucy Wells, the Courtyard's business development manager, said fundraising plays a crucial role in the venue's education and outreach work.
The team has set themselves a fundraising target of £2,000.
Donations can be made at justgiving.com/courtyardcanoers or via the Courtyard box office.
