LEARN the art of the Samurai in tranquil surroundings of Batsford Arboretum.
Visitors will be able to learn about the fascinating art of the Japanese sword, Mugai Ryu, during a demonstration at the Japanese rest house, at Batsford Arboretum. on Saturday September 12, from 11am to 12pm.
Mugai Ryu is an old, authentic martial art of the Samurai, founded in 1693. Its founder was a Buddhist monk, and the style has a deep connection to Zen Buddhism. Simple and direct with a characteristic calmness and sharp attention. The demonstration itself is free to watch, however the arboretum entrance fee applies. No need to book.
The arboretum is also open free to individual RHS members throughout September.
