A DAMAGED ancient monument in Bidford is expected to cost about £300,000 to repair.
A crop sprayer hit the side of Bidford Bridge on Tuesday, June 9 significantly damaging the stone parapet, spandrel wall and central pier.
Since the incident the bridge has remained closed to vehicles but is open to pedestrians and cyclists.
It is anticipated that it will be reopened to vehicles in October at the earliest.
A Warwickshire council spokesman said: "We do not have a definite cost for the work but anticipate it will be in the region of £300 000.
“Warwickshire Police has closed its investigation, finding the incident to be an accident with no prosecution to follow.
“As such the local authority will look to recover costs via an insurance claim."
Historic England has approved the building materials chosen for the rebuild and the council is expecting delivery this week.
