ASPIRING young actors are being given a chance to star in this year’s Palace Theatre panto Jack and the Beanstalk, starring girl band Eternal star Vernie Bennett and the X Factor's Lloyd Daniels.

The show, produced by Paul Holman Associates and coming to the theatre from December, is after girls aged between eight and 11-years-old with a maximum height of 4ft 11ins.

Anyone interested must be at least the equivalent standard of ISTD Grade One in ballet, tap and modern and following a recognised syllabus and should also have strong performance skills.

Girls attending auditions, held at the Palace Theatre on Sunday, September 6 from 10am, must be accompanied and must have a valid signed parental permission form.

If they are not attending with their own parent/guardian, this form can be obtained by emailing Jane Griffiths and must be brought along on the day.

Those interested are being told to bring all relevant shoes and be prepared to stay for some hours.

A spokesman from the theatre said: "Successful children must be available for the whole of the rehearsal and performance period and must live within a maximum of 30 minutes travelling distance of the theatre.

"They must be available for rehearsals from November 26 until the opening of the panto on December 7 and be available throughout the run until January 3. All successful applicants are subject to local education authority performance licensing."
