KINGSWINFORD and Stourbridge Lions Club are in need for literary costumes to be used at a forthcoming fundraising event.

The Lions have planned a Mad Hatters Tea Party which will be taking place at Stourbridge’s Crown Centre on Saturday September 5.

However, the group are hoping to loan Alice in Wonderland costumes to be worn by members of the Norton Players Drama Group.

Costumes are needed for the roles of the Mad Hatter, Alice, the Queen of Hearts and the March Hare.

As part of the event, the club has already lined up performances from a local primary school choir, a local band and various singers.

Stourbridge’s Tesco store will also be providing free cakes and drinks for children who visit.

Karen Rice, spokeswoman for the Lions, pleaded: “Can anyone help us make this a memorable event in our town? Any help would be gratefully appreciated.”
