THERE have still been no arrests made in three of four sex attacks which happened in Worcester last month.

Police are still hunting for those responsible for a rape in Worcester Woods at the beginning of July and two sex assaults within 24 hours of each other in Tunnel Hill and Portland Street, Diglis.

A 34-year-old is on bail until Tuesday, September 22 for a fourth incident in Cranham Drive on July 23 after being arrested for sexual assault by penetration.

The crimes sent shockwaves through the city but superintendent Kevin Purcell assured people that police would leave "no stone unturned" during their investigations.

Officers are continuing to investigate the four attacks which they do not believe are linked.

A West Mercia Police spokesman said: "Rape and sexual offences are taken very seriously and all reports have and will be thoroughly investigated by specially trained officers.

“Anyone who has been the victim of a sexual offence can be reassured that if they choose to come forward to police they will be treated in a caring and sensitive manner.

"Specially trained officers and dedicated independent sexual advisors will give them all the support they can. Additionally, West Mercia Police will work hard to prosecute those responsible whilst also taking into account the wishes of the victim."

A woman was raped in Worcester Woods Country Park, Nunnery Wood, on Thursday, July 9 between 5.30pm and 8.30pm.

The man was described as white, middle aged with grey hair and was wearing blue jeans.

Less than 24 hours later, an 18-year-old was walking from Mill Street onto Portland Street, where her car was parked, at about 1am on Saturday, when she was grabbed from behind by an unknown man.

He was described as a white man, between the age of 30 and 40 and was of a slim build, about 5ft 8ins tall with short shaved hair and dark stubble. He was wearing a long dark and long sleeved top with a round top.
