POLICE are carrying out further forensic investigations to identify human remains found at a roundabout in Telford.
A post mortem was carried out on Tuesday after a human skull was found by maintenance workers on August 20 at junction 4 of the M54 Eastbound, but the findings were inconclusive.
Further skeletal remains were found close by. It was established that the remains were that of an unknown male and were likely to have been at the scene for more than two years.
Detective Sergeant Paul Hopwood said: "We are still open minded as to how this individual happened to be at this location, and we are continuing to pursue a number of enquiries to identify the man and establish what has happened.
"Further forensic inquiries will take a number of weeks, but we will continue to keep the public updated on any developments."
