A FOURTEEN-year-old has secured herself a place in the grand final of Miss Junior Teen Great Britain.

Erin White has been crowned Miss Junior Teen Herefordshire

The Wigmore High School pupil, from Shobdon, will now travel to Blackpool in October for the final when she will be joined by teenagers from across the country.

"Making it to the grand final is a dream come true," said Erin.

"Fingers crossed that I will be able to bring the Miss Junior Teen Great Britain crown home to Herefordshire."

The contest is judged on photographs, personality, personal achievement and fundraising.

Erin has already raised £600 for the children's hospice charity, Together for Short Lives and is keen to use her title to help support organisations and charities in this area.

She regularly volunteers for the Leominster Priory Holiday Club during her summer holidays and visits an orphanage in Morocco to take donations and gifts to the children there.

Erin is sponsored by Radnor Hills Mineral Water Company and visited their Knighton production plant on the back of her Herefordshire win.

William Watkins, the firm's owner and managing director, said: "We are thrilled to sponsor Erin and wish her every success with her beauty competition and the great work she is doing raising money for charity."
