BROMSGROVE group Words has organised its latest event at a town venue.
Words, which promotes interest in the written and spoken word, is welcoming Dan Vyleta, a leading novelist and cultural historian.
Dan was born and raised in the Ruhr Valley region of Germany, studying for a first degree, later gaining a PhD in history from King's College Cambridge.
He has taught history, literature and creative writing at a variety of higher educational institutions in Canada, Germany, the United States and the UK.
Dan is also currently a senior lecture at the University of Birmingham.
He has published both novels and historical non-fiction work and his work has looked at topics including anti-Semitism and Austrian criminology.
His second novel, The Crooked Maid, was shortlisted for the 2013 Scotiabank Giller Prize.
It is set in shattered, post-Second World War Vienna of 1948.
Dan will be speaking at the next event, at 7.30 pm on Sunday, September 6, being held at Artrix, in School Drive.
