FOLLOWING the success of the Bewdley Harvest Soup Trail last year, it will take place for the fifth time at this year’s Harvest Fair.

The event has been known as the highlight of Bewdley’s annual Harvest Fair, organised by Bewdley Development Trust, on Saturday and Sunday (October 3 and 4).

This year six of the finest chefs in the town will be competing to win the coveted Bewdley Soup Trail trophy. All of those taking part can enter the prize draw to win a family ticket on the Severn Valley Railway.

“Soup Visas” will be available from the Deli @ Bewdley, in Load Street, and Bewdley Farm Shop, in Dog Lane.

There will be more than 100 visas on sale from today (September 28) and another 100 visas available on the day. Once they are sold out, there will not be any more. Visas are £4 in advance and £5 on the day.

The Soup Visa entitles holders to get a free sample of soup from each of the six participating venues, where visas will be stamped. Visa holders can vote for their favourite soup and place in order of preference on the visa and deposit them in the ballot boxes at the two shops.

Venues participating this year include Pomodoro, Clemintines Coffee, the Shambles Cafe, the Little Pack Horse, the Hop Pole and the Cock and Magpie.

Bewdley Soup Trail organiser, Chris Griffin, from the trust, said: “The Soup Trail showcases the talents of local chefs.

“We would like to thank everyone taking part. May the tastiest soup win.”
