A GROUP of residents dug deep to uncover what they are calling the 'lost garden' of Warndon Villages.

A group of 13 volunteers gathered last week at Snowberry Avenue in Woodgreen Drive to rediscover a once well-kept community garden.

The area was once cared for by a local gardening group but has since become overgrown, and Alex Booth, community engagement officer with Worcester City Council, wants to restore it to its former glory.

He said: "The event went really well last week. We had 13 volunteers come along to help and they really got stuck in to the site and I think they had fun while doing it.

"They are very keen to continue the good work they have started. Therefore, as part of the City Council Parish Warden’s aspiration to offer regular volunteering opportunities across Warndon Villages, we’re going to meet again on October 27 from 10am until midday. The plan is to meet every last Tuesday of the month at the Lyppard Hub."

Anyone is invited to go along to help, with tools being provided.
