WORCESTER'S zombie walk is returning to the city at the end of the month.

The living dead will band together and walk the streets for a good cause which has become a regular feature in the city over the last few years.

This year's event is set to take place on Sunday, November 1, starting at 11.45am outside the Crown in Broad Street.

The Worcester Zombie Walk was first set up in 2008 but didn't run in 2012 or 2013.

Since then a team of horror fans have worked with original organisers, Andy and Tracey Monaghan, to re-animate the event.

Amy Griffin, one of the event organisers, said: "Following the success of last year's event, we are very happy to be able to bring the zombie walk back to the city. People can come join us for a day of lumbering around the streets, take part in our Zombola and help us raise money for CLIC Sargent, which supports children and young people with cancer.

"To take part no special skills are needed, just the ability to dress up as the undead then lumber and groan along the streets of Worcester with us. It's that simple. Following on from the success of last year we will have our Bell Ringer back to warn the humans of Worcester that the zombie horde is coming.

"This year we are asking people to donate £3 for a wristband which shows they are registered for the event and some local businesses will be giving discounts to people who have a wristband."

People are able to arrive at 10am to have make up applied in the upstairs of the Crown, which has been reserved for the event.

The walk will be followed by a zombie-related quiz and games.
