THE cast and crew of Peaky Blinders have returned to their spiritual home in Dudley to film scenes for series three.

Cillian Murphy and Paddy Considine are some of the stars that have been shooting scenes at the Black Country Living Museum this week.

Cameras started rolling yesterday (Thursday) and there is a "huge buzz" around the show according to producer Simon Maloney.

He said no end of visitors had been trying to catch a glimpse of filming, taking place behind a heavily guarded set at the museum's canal arm but said they were "never a nuisance and always respectful."

Simon revealed that a "key scene" between Cillian Murphy, who plays Birmingham gang leader Tommy Shelby and newcomer Paddy Considine was shot at the museum yesterday and it was "a delight to watch".

The museum will also be featured more in the new six episode series than ever before, he said.

"We've shot scenes of Charlie Strong's yard here since series one, we love the museum, it's like a period playground for us and compliments the industrial feel of Peaky Blinders."

His thoughts were echoed by the show's creator Steven Knight: "We think of the museum as home, this is our world and we love coming here."

Steven said it's still a thrill to be on set and see the show being made and said he is on hand to solve any last-minute hitches: "Once it's written I don't do a lot on set but if when we're filming we come across a problem, like if it's raining and we can't get it done, I'll adjust the script to get it done."

When the show first aired on BBC Two in 2013, the Birmingham accents were slated by proud Brummies but Steven said "they have improved".

He continued: "I'm from Birmingham and have always cringed when I've heard the accent on TV as they never get it right but the actors in the first series really took it to heart as it was the only adversity they received.

"They have worked and worked and worked to get it right and I think we have."

Filming will continue at the museum until October 14, with some parts being off limits to visitors during this time.
