PEOPLE can ask the police their questions about hate crime during a live web chat this week.

Chief Superintendent Lee Davenport, hate crime lead for Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police, will be hosting a web chat on Tuesday between 6pm and 9pm.

The event has been planned to coincide with National Hate Crime Week which runs from October 10 to 18 and is one of a series of events taking place across the force areas as part of a week of action on hate crime.

Hate crimes are any crimes that are targeted at a person because of prejudice towards their race, disability, religion, sexuality, identity or their belonging to a subculture.

Chief Superintendent Davenport said: "We know that on a national level hate crimes are underreported and that there are many reasons for this. This web chat and other events during hate crime week will give us the opportunity to engage with our communities and ensure that victims are comfortable to come forward in the confidence that they will be listened to and supported.

"If you've got any questions whatsoever on hate crime, please take this opportunity to ask them."
